Defrag on the Virtual Pool (raid group) can take a long time. There should be some indication of progress (I'm not familiar with the AX100). In the Navispshere interface, you should be able to look at the Storage tab and under the Raid Groups you should see the one that is transitioning. Right click on the raid group icon should bring up the Properties page, in one of the tabs it should show the progress of the defrag operation.
I think there is a way to reset the AX100 back to factory default, but that would erase the whole array - all of the virtual Pools and disks, so you'd want to be sure that you have the data backed up that you can still access.
The most current version of the FLARE operating software is 02.19.100.5.048.
You will need to contact EMC in order to get the latest array OS. Generally the AX-series was supported by the partners that sold the arrays.
