Adding a DAE
We just ordered an additional DAE (second) and I am wondering if it can just be plugged in or do I have to down the SAN? The tech who installed it in the first place said I'd have to just pull the plugs on the current DAE then install the second one which does not make any sense.

I have seen adding two DAE's in one time to a cx700 and everything was hot-plug without any downtime.

You need to ensure that the enclosue address is correct before you plug it in. Also, if this is a new cx3 based array, make sure that you follow the rules for adding arrays to busses running at different speeds.
The is a Customer Configuration Guide available at Powerlink that has a number of common procedures - download the latest version and run it to see if it includes adding a DAE - it runs on a Windows box.
