Analyzer question

I have been doing some troubleshooting and  I am finding the output rather confusing.

I have a Raid group that contains 4 disks in a 2 + 2 R10 configuration

If I look at the RAID group level analyzer is showing a Total Read size KB starting at 165 KB ( the second line from the bottom)

but I have disks in that raid group that show much larger Read KB sizes.

What would explain the output when a Raid group figure is lower than the Disks Read sizes?

I would have thought that the raid group total would be equal to the combined total of the disks contained within it?

Or is this showing Host I/O on a Raid group level but showing other processes are running at a disk level ( i.e. some database process that is running but not generating Host I/O

confused

I don't have an answer to your exact question but I do know there will be discrepancies with lun/group IO statistics in regards to cache hits and such.

So it might be something related to that, but thats just my guesstimate.

My undertanding is that the statistics for Raid Group are from the LUN. I use RG statistics to get a quick look for issues, then I look at the disks and LUNs for a more precise view.
