CX3-80 - Communication error between SPA and SPB

I get an communication error when I try to access the events on SPB when I'm login to SPA when I'm in NaviSphere. Also in NaviSphere when I try to setup a monitor with the wizard the SPB is not shown on the selection list.

NaviSphere does show SPA and SPB as managed and in the setup web pages for each SP does show the correct peer address as set correctly.

I'm not sure if this is related but when I first setup the CX3-80 I could never get the NaviSphere Storage System Initialization to detect the system. I eventually had to use the setup web pages for each SP.

Any ideas why this is happening? Your comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

can you issue navicli getagent against both the sp? paste the output here

try resetting the ip again using following method
1. change ip of spa and ip of peer sp to new addresses using http://spa/setup page
2. reboot spa
3. change ip of spb and ip of peer sp to new addresses using http://spb/setup page
4. reboot spb
5. reboot spa again...

Hi Thanks for the quick reply.

My client tried what you suggested but we are still getting the same problem. Sorry I don't have access to do getagent currently.

Any other ideas? Thanks again

I was curious if they ever solved this problem. We just upgraded to the CX3-80 from a 600 and we have the same problem.

Strange... All three of my CX3-80s were upgrades (one from a CX500 and two from CX700s) and we never saw anything like this.

EMC 2nd level support said that there is a bug in Flare 03.24.080.5.00x If you use ports 2162/2163 instead of 80/443 you will get this comm error between SPA and SPB.

EMC was able to repro the exact same problem in their lab and confirmed that it is a bug in 03.24.080.5.00x EMC suggest that you use ports 80/443 for now until the next Flare code update will fix the bug.

The latest 03.24.080.5.008 has the same bug.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do you change those ports?

from the navisphere setup pages. you have to destroy security information first tho, otherwise the selection is blocked

I guess it doesn't matter because we are using 80/443. We are still seeing that comm error.
