CX500 serial cable pinouts

Hmmmm, I always use a console cable I formerly used for Shiva routers. It's a solid cable and works like a charm.

No, I don't have the pinouts.

db9-db9 part is standard null modem cable...

The DB9 to DB9 is a standard NULL modem cable - this is from you laptop to the cable that connects to the cx500 - DB9 to RJ45. The part number for this cable is 118-032-349.

On the RJ45, pins are numbered 8-1 - left to right if you're looking at the plug with the gold fingers facing up and the cable pointing to you (end of plug pointing away from you).

That pinout does not work... Can you send pinout from ends of RJ45 and DB9 female plug (at end of null-modem cable)?

the pinouts listed are from the engineering drawing for the cable - this is the RJ45 to DB9 cable - they should work -

the part number for the cable is also listed.

I have hard time to find out pinout for PPP connection to CX500 serial console port.

First of all there must be two cables connect together to achieve successfull PPP connection.  (P/N 038-003-448 RJ-45, DB9 male and P/N 038-003-458 DB9 female, DB9 female). Pinout for whole cable combination is:

  RJ-45                DB-9 female

  1 N.C.

  2                         4 (four)

  6                         4 (this is not error, four)

  4                         3

  5                         2

  7                         6,1

  8                         8

                             7 N.C.

                             9 N.C
