CX700: Vault LUN not enabled or not valid
Hi all! I have a problem with my CX700 w. Flare 2.24: Whenever I try to enable the write cache, I get an entry in the event log saying "Vault LUN not enabled or not valid", Event code 0x7bd. The CX700 is all ok, all disks are fine, vault disks are fine as well, both SPs working, both SPS are fine and charged, no error at all showing in Navisphere. What can I do?
Thanks!

Thank you for the tips.
After a bit googling I was able to access the SP OS's via EMCremote. I've tried the registry trick on both SP and reboot them without succsess.
@KHD:-) How should I proceed? May I need do delete the hot spare luns to prevent a takeover from them.
How long should a disk be removed to ensure the system recognize it correctly as removed/faulted.
May I start with the 5th disk because at the startup its not flickering that much than the other 4 do. Or is this normal?
Thank you

Hi again, yes you can try force rebuild of disk 0-3
Drive 0-3 is the flare disks in R1 for SPA & SPB Drive 4 is vault
Do not disable HS, an take disk 0 out wait for it to finish rebuild to HS, when finish, insert disk 0
do same procedure for all flare disks (0-4)
So disk 0 out. wait! disk 0 in
disk 1 out. wait! disk 1 in
disk 2 out. wait! disk 2 in
disk 3 out. wait! disk 3 in
Try it

Hello again
It took a while until I could arrange a downtime, but finally I've solved the issue.
Thank you for your explanations.
I've found a solution I'd tried first and it was successful.
Write cache is enabled, perfect.

Yes, the procedure is listed in EMC KB24378 (Enabling write cache on CLARiiON array with CRU signature or vault load errors, https://support.emc.com/kb/24378), but usually it is for Field Support personnel. For end-users please still call EMC support first.

Hi gaggaman, I'd really like to know how you solved this issue? I'm having the same problem on a CX4-120.
Regards, George.
