Clariion Functionality: Dynamic Data Moving

Question

Hi all ! I want to know if there is a functionality in Clariion that data (LUNs) that is accessed less is automatically assigned to slower disks in the Storage. Thank you !! Mariano.

That CX line is confusing but like dynamox said, it is just CX4s. That line was just saying that only Celerra gateway models are supported and not integrated models. (Gateway meaning the CLARiiON can give luns to hosts without presenting them through the Celerra. Integrated being there is no direct connectivity to the CLARiiON, only through the Celerra.)

FAST v1 is available in FLARE 29 which only runs on the CX4 arrays. The really cool version of FAST is coming with FLARE 30, which should be out 'soon'. Lookup FAST Cache on emc.com.

FAST it is available in Celerra and CX4, right ? CX3 is not supported or it is ?

I read the document "EMC FAST LUN Migrator - Best Practices Planning" and at page 6 says System Requirements:

- CX4 storage systems...

- CX storage systems forming the storage for NAS....

So the last line made me doubt...

that document mentions flare 29 as the requirement which leads me to believe CX3 is not support (it only supports flare 26)

guys, just to clarify...

FAST is available on R29.

the requirements are

Release 28 or later is required to run the analysis.

Release 29 is required to run the lun migration.

You need to also have Navianalyzer, FAST Lun Migrator host utility and the FAST LUN Migrator enabler on the array (chargeable software).

This is only available on R29 so that means the CX4 series only.

Release 30 will have alot of new features with FAST.
