Connecting a disk array enclosure to a controller.
Can I connect an AX4 disk expansion tray to a controller without having to power down the controller?

If you are referring to add an additional DAE, Yes!
Ex. You have Bus0 Enc0 and want to connect Bus0 Enc1 : Yes you can connect it on the fly with out powering down the SP's. (DPE)
Power On the Enclosure for few minutes so that the Bus Speed will be stable and then connect it to the backend.
