How do I configure Unisphere to auto login using LDAP?
Hello everyone, I have 20 various Clariion arrays in multiple domains all individually configured to login via LDAP. I have installed Unisphere Off-Array to manage all of them. Unisphere is designed to automatically log into all the domains when you enter your userid and password and that works. But if you use LDAP I have not been able to get it to automatically login. I am forced to go to each domain and login manually. Has anyone been able to configure Unisphere to auto login with LDAP?
Thanks for any assistance.

I have the same issue here. It worked with Navisphere but hasn't worked with Unisphere. Support noted that not all array's were at Flare 30 and wanted to see if it would work when I got there. Not exactly what I was looking for but I only have 2 domains so it wasn't worth the effort to push them for a fix. I'll be at all 30 in mid January so we'll see what happens then.
Do you 2 domains with all flare 30.X that don't auto login to each other?

I have a combination of CX700s, CX3-80s and CX4-960s. The 700 will never be at 30 and the 4s are not targeted for an upgrade until end of January. My only work around so far has been to use global non-LDAP accounts but that is against our security policy.

Could you elaborate what do you mean by auto login on LDAP? I will research on it with time permitting and might come up with a solution.

Ankit,
I don't see any section that addresses legacy domains and auto-login. This appears to be a link to demonstrate how to authenticate via LDAP, but not how to link and auto-login to legacy domains. Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help,

Any update to this? I'm having the same problem with Unisphere Server 1.2 and CX4 legacy domains and VNX domains.

No update; no change. Only work around was to create a global account on each domain and the same global account on unisphere server and use the static account to login.

The original focus on the question is for using Off-Array Unisphere Server and Client. Configuring the VNX and legacy clariions to use LDAP is not the problem. However, if you configure Off-Array Unisphere to use LDAP and the VNX and CX domains to us LDAP and you then logon to Off-Array with your LDAP account, the multi-domain login process fails. You then have to log on to each domain individually. However, if you use a static non-LDAP account, the Off-Array Unisphere automatically logs you on to all domains and you can then see all your arrays at the same time.

Hello! Looks like you have setup LDAP login to Unisphere Server. But I got stuck on adding cert. The cert file is good, it can be used on VNX - connecting LDAP. But the same file failed to be added when used on Unisphere Server -connecting LDAP, error "The caller is not privileged. (0x2)".
Any hint on this? Or would you mind to share your experirnce to do so?
I have only VNX here.
What I want to do is:
Single Portal of Unisphere Server to my VNX, and configure the Unipshere Server as centrilized event monitoring.
THanks in advance!

Hello,
EMC has put out a new version of Unisphere software. They no longer use the name off-array. To make it work you need to download from the new EMC portal the following two file names; Unisphere Server (windows) 1.2.2.1.0045 and Unisphere Client (windows) 1.2.2.1.0036. Install the Server software on a physical or virtual server or even your workstation. Install the Client software on your workstation. Run the client software and connect to the name of the server or use local host (if on same system). Create a global admin account on the "Local Domain" (unisphere server). Go to domains tab and create a multi-domain environment by adding in each VNX domain that you have. It helps to have the same admin account name on those domains at least at first. Make sure you click the Always Accept the Certs. Then configure the "Local Domain" (unisphere server) for LDAP (just like you did on the VNX domains). Once all that is done, you should be able to launch the Unisphere Client, connect to the server and log in using your LDAP account and your VNXs should show up in one window.
Hope this helps.

Ankit, I have found that the latest Unisphere Server/Unisphere Client software has finally resolved this issue.

Thanks for your reply.
The issue of Unisphere Server I found is that a validate cert cann't be added to Unisphere Server on management station. Same cert file works on VNX Unisphere.
Haven't got a time to try if there is no Unisphere Host Agent installed. It looks like very primus with error "The caller is not privileged. (0x2)" points to host agent...
