How to with new Unisphere tools

Hello

Anyone knows how to connect a Clariion (CX, CX3, CX4) serial or management Lan with the new Unisphere tools ?

The Unisphere Service Manager (USM) is the new version of Navisphere Taskbar (NST) and Unisphere Client the new version of

Navisphere Off Array UI ..... OK but with the old version we can connect via serial or NAT .....

Thx for a fast reply

That is a very good question.  I cant seem to find it myself in the USM GUI.

Unisphere Service Manager will ask to enter the first IP address (SPA) then ask after the credentials and if they are correct will ask you for the second IP address (SPB). If NAT is not needed it won’t ask you for the seconds IP address.

im wondering if you connect directly to the service ports, that USM would reconize the IP broadcast from it and a different window would pop up letting you put both addresses for the SP's.   Or work like you stated above.

cant test it right now...

I believe it's because it can already see SPB is the same as SPA for username/password - I see the same results in out lab - but I can't connect to the service ports as I don't have access to the network in our lab.

Glen,    that doesnt happen for me when i try to connect to an array with USM.  I dont get another screen asking for SPB after my credentials.  is it becuase it can ping and see that SPA responded to it's ip?

Glen,  that primus is for when the ports are not responding after hooking a hub to them.  doesnt address why the USM doesnt have the option.  If i get the time today, i will hook my laptop to the back of a CX4-480 service port and see what it does.

Glen,  i was able to connect my laptop directly to the service port of SPA and it did not prompt me for SPB or NAT settings when using the USM.  i set my adress as 128.221.1.249 and i looked like i could do everything that i would normally do when using the USM thru the management ports.

Maybe they removed that functionality.  I didnt test the serial connect as i dont see anywhere i could put the PPP IP address.
