There is a software enabler that needs to be loaded.  You can purchase navisphere analyzer individually or if you buy the enterprise edition of navisphere with the array then analyzer is included.  EMC service personnel would be the ones to load the enabler.

If you have access to Navisphere for the array, right click on the array icon and select Properties - then select the Software tab - if you see NavispherAnalyzer listed then you have the licensed version.

Thanks guys!  So it appears if it is on the array it will show up in software tab.  If it does not then the enabler needs to be installed.  Once it is showing in software then I need to:

go to array properties and select enable statistics logging

let it collect data

then use navi analyzer to check things out?

Is it that simple?  I have used off array analyzer and looked at the files and such just never installed / turned it on.

Also,  once the enabler is loaded,  make sure you turn on "Statistics Logging" under the array properties.

Once it is logging,  you can go to pretty much any object (Lun, RaidGroup, Drive) and right click it and Analyzer should be an option at the bottom.  I normally use the "performance detail" option and let it run for a bit to see if there are any issues.

Or from the tools menu up top, you can set the data logging option to show a longer collection.

Depending on the version of flare - release 24 and higher you need to START Analyzer from Tools/Analyzer/Date Logging - starting Analyzer will also turn on Statistic Logging.

Release 22 flare and lower, turn on Statistic Logging - that starts Analyzer collecting data points - then you need to go to Tools/Analyzer/Archive/Retrieve in order to create and download an archive.

In release 24+ you can set Periodic Archiving enabled to automatically create and store on the array archives, then you can later retrieve these from the Tools/Analyzer/Archive/Retrieve

Very good, complete and informative information in Help about using Analyzer
