Problem with bringing LCC online.
I'm having a problem bringing the LCCs online for my used CX3-10C. When I try, I get the following error. “The system already contains the maximum number of DAEs (0DAEs). This DAE cannot be brought online.” Searching the community I have found very little on this topic. I must have reset something I should not have when I wiped the security and the domain. It looks like I have only zero DAEs that I can bring online. Is there any way to reset this, short of a maintenance contract. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

NS20 (CX3-10) is an exception, it supports 90 disks

How many DAE's plus the DPE (the SP and disks) do you have?

there is a limit to the number of DAE's that each array can hold. The CX3-10c can have a maximum of 60 disks. With 15 disks per DAE, you can have 4 DAE's total.

Being a new to Clariion arrays, I don’t know all the acronyms. DPE has me stumped. Here is the equipment I have as reported by Navisphere 6.
CX3-10c
DAE - Bus 0 Enclosure 0 DAE3P [FC…]
SP A and B
SPS battery packs.
Everything, except drive 2, is functioning normally.
I have gone in through the serial port and destroyed the security, reset the domain, setup a new user admin and password.
Through Navisphere I have:
When I tried to bring the LUN online I get the error message “one or more LUNs cannot be brought online call your service provider.”
I then tried to bring the LCCs online and got the error about too many DAEs.
I don’t have the budget for a service agreement even if they still support this model. I'm having a hard time finding documentation on this model. So, I really appreciate all of your help and advice.

The processors on the array - called Storage Processors (SP's), are housed in two different enclosure types:
SPE - Storage Processor Enclosure - this is the enclosure that holds only the SP's - no disks
DPE - Disk Processor Enclosure - this houses both the SP's in the back and the disks in the front
The CX3 series did not have the DPE concept, so the SP's are in a separate enclose and there are cables that connect the SP's to the disks (DAE).
With only 15 disks I'm assuming that you have one DAE. The LCC's are in the DAE and are supposed to be on when powered up.
How exactly are you trying the bring the LCC's on-line? The LCC's should already be online, if there was a problem with the LCC, you wouldn't be able to create LUNs and raid group (normally).
In Navisphere when you look in the Physical tree, you should see all the devices - if there is something wrong with the hardware, you should see a red F (fault) on the device that's failed.
When you create a new LUN, the LUN is considrered on-line at that time, you only need to hook up a host, create a Storage Group, put the host and LUN in the Storage Group and then from the host, see if can see the LUN - you should reboot the host first.

Replace Disk 2 first.
Is that LUN a part of any Storage Group?
IMO Destorying Domain Security has nothing to do with this error.
glen : DPE?! o.O CX3-10C is an SPE Model. :/
