Reboot/Restart Storage Processor
I'm a bit new so go easy.
My first question is, can someone point me to a procedure for rebooting a storage processor for a CX300, flare 19? I searched and used the procedure generator to no avail. Just keep finding 'Reboot Navisphere Management' topics/issues. I do not seem to be able to reboot through Navisphere
My second question is this, basically everything on FE1 on SPA is not logged in or connected(Windows 2003, Qlogic). After some troubleshooting it looks like there is no laser coming out of that FE(Which probably means we need to replace the entire SP). Would rebooting even help this issue?

IP Address configuration is accessible only through the Navisphere ¿Setup Page¿ or Secure CLI.
The setup screen is accessed by typing ¿https//¿IP Address¿/setup¿ in the browser address field.
any how
how did u figure that FE1 port is not connected

IMPORTANT: You should disable Write cache before rebooting any SP.
For question number 2, I would recommend replacing the cable first, then the GBIC on the switch second and lastly reboot SPA and if that does not fix it, replace the SP. Is this a direct connect or is there a fabric switch in use?

As for the first reply, thanks, but I am trying to reboot an SP, not the management interface for an SP.
In answer to both questions of how I determined that SPA FE1 was no longer working. I logged into navisphere and saw that no hba's could connect to SPA FE1, then I checked the fiber switch and saw again that I have no connectivity to that port.
So I tresspassed all luns over to SPB, then went to re-seat the cable in SPA FE1 and noticed that there is no transmit laser coming out FE1. There should be a transmit laser, and there is not. I checked the cable and the transmit laser was there so as I see it, messing with cables or the switch would not help because the problem actually seems to be on SPA. Even worse is that it looks to me like the FE's are built in, not modular, so I can't just replace the Gbic/initiator/whatever.
Err... How do I log in engineering mode(or have a link to documentation)?

I would try to reboot the SP first and if that does not clear the problem, replace the SP.

Are you sure about the need for engineering mode to reboot an SP? The option is available through the right-click menu when not in engineering mode.

You must be looking at a CX with Rel 26 or 24 but not Rel 19. Flare 24 and 26 provide the option if you right click on the SP even when you are not in engineering mode.
But with Flare 19 (in this case) there is no option to reboot unless you get into the Engineering mode.
Thanks,

That is only if you have flare 24 or up.
flare 19 does not display "reboot" option on right click.

The reboot it's self worked like a charm though, which was the real point of this thread, so thanks for all of your help guys, nice to ask a question and get so many people respond with ideas!
