Replace CX4-240 by HPE / EMC SAN ?

Hi,

Previously, we got 2 VMWare Clusters with EMC CX4 SAN.  Around 6 months ago, we have migrated one to HPE MSA 2052 SAS Dual Controller SFF Storage due to price reason.  We fully understand that we cannot compare a FC CX4 with SAS HPE SAN but budget is tight.

Now, we need to replace another CX4 SAN.  Since we have previous expereince with CX4 / VNX, we are familiar with Unisphere Client.

Just would like to seek your advice what is the corresponding DELL EMC Product that is comparable to HPE MSA 2052 SAS SAN ? Would it be DELL EMC SCv3000 SAN ?  Is the management tool similar to Unisphere ?

Thanks

It appears that SCv3000 SAN is from DELL and not from EMC (Though they are the same company now).

May I ask is there any Entry Level SAS SAN offered by EMC ?

Thanks

The entry level SAN from EMC is the Unity family. It is similar to the CX/VNX EMC series, but uses a different technology. There is also a Dell Array - the SC series, not real familiar with this array. Both are SAN (Storage Area Network - connected with either FC for ethernet (iSCSI or FILE) arrays. Both use SAS backends for the drives.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to find information on both the Dell and EMC arrays on the new Dell Technology web site.
