But, but, but…. I hate CLI!!! ☺ Thank you for this, good info to have. I’ll work on it today. I was able to get a lun copied over but as it’s part of a SQL cluster there are a few things to check first. If you know of any issues with SAN COPY and SQL Clusters, let me know ☺
Mainly, what happens to the shared luns on the old array when they are taken away and the SAN COPY luns from the new array are added to the cluster. Is that going to require us to remap everything on the new drives or will it pick up right where it left off? Any special things I need to know before I attempt this?
SanCopy will copy everything, disk signatures etc. On the night of cutover and after good full backup ( ) , you shutdown the cluster/server, run final SanCopy, unzone old storage , present new storage and boot it up.
Yes but they’re complaining about all the work required to do so. I was going to use a 500GB test lun and have it on only ONE cluster server and migrate it to see if it worked ok. That’s what my meeting at 9:30 today is about ☺
Roger that. You da man! Appreciate the help, now I have to get the admins to listen to me when I say “this will work and not break your SQL cluster” hahaha.

When you san “Run final SAN COPY” are you talking about a FULL SAN COPY session or incremental?
