Bob,
There is a lot of documentation on PowerLink that should be your starting place to provide you with the foundational overview and functionality of those technologies. I would start with the admin guides for SnapView and SANCopy located at:

Support > Documentation/White Paper Library > Software S Documentation > SnapView

and

Support > Documentation/White Paper Library > Software S Documentation > SANCopy

If you are on release 24 the admin guides are now built into Navisphere help. If you have any specific questions after review these documents, post them in the forum and we will try to help out.

hi Aran,

I have gone through the documentation but have not implemented it, is there any doc available which can guide me step by step implementation for the same.

They are three different products and so have three different processes.

The Admin guide for Mirrorview (there's one for Sync and one for Async) has step-by-step instructions for mirroring.

I've not seen or done SANCopy, so I can only guess that there is an admin guide for that as well. Snapview is covered in the Clariion admin guide.

Keep in mind that none of this is trivial, and if you want to have a test system with the LUNs attached without live data on them so you can practice.

Good luck,
mark

SANcopy has a very good guide as well with multiple examples, I do agree with Mark that the best way to learn it to setup a few test scenarios on a play box and try these features.

Dynamox and Mark have a good point: take some time to play around with the technology and familiarize yourself with it.

One correction though, Snapview is in a separate admin guide. And in FLARE24 there are no separate guides anymore for Mirroview, SANCopy, or Snapview. They are all rolled up in a html based help for Navisphere.

What specifically are you looking for? The documentation is pretty good at providing all the necessary information to plan and setup the environment. The Snapview documentation even has sections on snapshot and clone examples which reads like a step by step lab setup and test Snapview.
