Storage Array Faulted but no Email notification ?

We are running EMC CX3-20 Storage Array. From the event viewer for both SPA and SPB, we observe that the following error message occurs almost on every Sunday afternoon:

Storage Array Faulted Bus 0 Enclosure 0 Power B: Faulted. (In SPB Event Viewer)
Storage Array Faulted Bus 0 Enclosure 0 Power A: Faulted. (In SPA Event Viewer)

We would like to know
1) What is the possible cause for this error message ?
2) Is there any circumstances that no Email notification to EMC is sent ?

Thanks

By default every Sunday at 3AM the SPS's do their self test (SPS = Standby Power Supply). Events will show up in both SP's event logs, but unless somebody changed the test times, you have something else going on. Could you please check (and mention here) related messages right before the ones you mentioned and also the ones right after the ones you mentioned ?

Also, if you don't trust this at all, simply call EMC to do a health check on your array. You will have something "on paper" then from an EMC technician, telling you what's going on.

You are right.

We find that at 12:00pm (I wonder whether we follow GMT or not), the first task is "AC Power to power supply A1 has been interrupted and SPS testing is in progress".

Then there are a number of messages before we encounter the "Storage Array Faulted Bus 0 Enclosure 0 Power B : Faulted" message.

Is it what you mean in your reply ?

Thanks

You can ignore these events until the SPS is really faulted ( amber on the hardware)
No worries at all whatsoever ...
I was from clariion support :)

Somehow I missed your reply. Yes, this is exactly what I mean. Please ignore the messages.
