Storage features
Does EMC have solutions allowing :
-Storage virtualisation (move disk from one SG to another) in production. Invista ?
-Raid change from one type of Raid to another
-VSAN (switch)
Thanks

- LUN migration from 1 RG to another
- Connectrix MDS (= Cisco). Brocade also has something like that called lsan's, but you need an MPR for this, like the MP7500.

Regarding Lun migration from 1 RG to another, you mean if
I have a Lun in RAID 5 for exemple, it will be converted to RAID 10
when migrated to a RG in Raid 10 ?

Furthermore, you can also migrate a metaLUN to another LUN which is not a metaLUN and you end up with a less complex LUN (this might have an performance impact as the components in a metaLUN can be on several Raid Groups and if you migrate to a single new LUN, it's on only 1 Raid Group. More Raid Groups can contain more disks and perform better, but it's all in the design

Your questions have been answered already, I just wanted to add a few thoughts.
another) in production. Invista ?
All CLARiiON arrays running current FLARE code use what EMC terms the Virtual LUN technology. Any LUN you create is technically a virtual LUN that can be non-disruptively migrated within the array using the built in capabilities of the array. If you are asking about mirroring/cloning a LUN within the array then that is built into the CLARiiON line as well using SnapView or SANCopy. If you are asking about mirroring LUNs between arrays then MirrorView is a CLARiiON based tool for that. Invista is a SAN fabric based storage virtualization solution that enables you to virtualize entire arrays.
Yes, the CLARiiON can non-disruptively migrate a LUN from on RAID group of a certain type to another RAID group of the same or different type. The destination LUN can even be larger than the source allowing you to grow the LUN.
This is a SAN fabric technology/concept no a storage array function. Cisco switches have VSAN capabilities built in.
Is there something specific you are trying to address? If you could provide more information I think you will get some more specific answers.

Thank you all for all your answers.
Good summary Aran, unfortunaltely I wanted to use Brocade switches (no
Vsan)
