Thin Provisioning and FLARE Version

Hi there,

I'm AX4-CX3-CX4 administrator.

I have purchased AX4 & CX4 with thin provisioning included but i'd like know if Thin provisioning is supported by CX3 series. It seems that Thin provisioning is compatible with some FLARE 28.x version.

Can anyone say me which are the equivalents a those FLARE versions got from SP's?

CX3: 03.24.010.5.010

AX4: 02.23.050.5.703

Both are FLARE 28.x or not. How can i check the real version.

it's possible purchase the enabler for my CX3 ??

Thin Provisioning is available only on CX4 platform , the AX4 run release 23 and the latest code is 23 patch 705 .
CX3 latest code is release 26 and patch 28 .
Vitual provisioning is supported on CX4 platform from release 28 .

CX3 and AX4 can't be upgrade to release 28 .

You are running release 24 on the cx3 and the release 23 on AX4 with patch 703 .

don't know about AX4, but afaik thin provisioning is only available on CX4 (flare 28 and >)

If you upgrade the CX3 to a CX4, you could then utilize thin provisioning on your older array. Your Flare can go past 28 with CX4 conversion and then aquire the thin enabler. We have several customers that upgrade CXx00/CX3 to a CX4 series to get the most out of their original investment.

EMC includes the Virtual Provisioning license free with any CX3-to-CX4 data-in-place conversion upgrade.
