Ok, it looks like we were talking about two different things.

Firstly, to manage a clariion box, you should use Navisphere/Unisphere on the box itself.

You connect to http://clariion-ip-address for SPA or SPB. From here you manage the box.

Secondly there is a tool called Navisphere service taskbar / Unisphere service manager.

This tool is used to apply patches, flare upgrades or hardware addons mostly.

For day to day operations, use the built in Navisphere on the clariion box itself, not the service taskbar/manager.

If your system is running FLARE 30 the management interface is now known as Unisphere.

If its FLARE 28 or 29 its called Navisphere as was earlier mentioned.

It is the built in management interface for the clariion boxes, so to answer your question, yes.

As far as I know there are no 3rd party tools that will provide what you want.

When it comes to mangement and performance overview you might want to look into EMC Control Center.

Its not free and its not web-based, but it can do everything you are looking for.

As previously  stated Unisphere (Flare 30) or Navisphere (Flare below 30)  is accessed  via TCPIP

http://clariion-ip-address for SPA or SPB

This will allow you to manage/monitor the array ,  there is also  a HOST based  application called an Agent which is installed

on the servers to allow hosts register automatically with the array and this also provides host side information such as  mount point

infomation into Unisphere/Navisphere.

I have attached the Navisphere Documentation for Flare 29  which explains the requirements and use of  Navisphere.

If you are interested in proactive services then there is a company that does performance and capacity planning services. http://www.interscapetech.com and http://www.perfonics.com. There some free tools/services available.

Yes, you can, if you use the service:-)

Not to get into a debate on this (these are not competing services, but filling a gap), but I was just responding to a query of an user. I am myself a user of many EMC products and also provide a service to other users who are looking for complimentary solutions to EMC products. At the end of the day, smoother operations of EMC infrastructure will only help EMC sell more hardware and software.  If this is the wrong forum to mention that, I apologize.

I don't believe there are. Also, you would want to be very specific about what type of tools that you're looking for - what is it that you want to do that can not be done using Navisphere or the CLI.
