about mirrorview question
Dear All,
I have established a mirrorview connection from CX3 to CX700 and also allocated write intend log luns on both storages.
There is a 100GB LUN which was synchronized to remote storage.
How much time I have without requiring full sync if I tried to fracture the mirror?
Thanks for any input,
Denns Dai

The amount of synchronization needed is function of how long the mirror is fractured and how much write activity there is. When a mirror is fractured, there is a fracture log bitmap that tracks changed areas of the LUN. Since its a bitmap, it doesn't "fill up", but will just continue to track the changed areas for as long as the mirror is fractured. So it would be possible to in effect have a full synchronization if there is enough write activity during a fracture and that write activity was across all logical block addresses of the LUN.
There is a whitepaper on PowerLink, MirrorView Knowledgebook, that explains the fracture log and write intent log in more detail.
