FTP access for local user

Question

Hello there.

What am i doing wrong. We have a ns20 with server_2 as active and server_3 a fallback
I have add a local user to the datamover with the server_user command on server_2

But when i try to connect to the ftp my logon is deny.

Anonymous acces is working good but not a specific user

The local user that i have created use as homedirectory a nfs export so i have give this has homedir

/fs_userdir/f731.

Must i create the user also for server_3 ? i haven't do this to activated the anonymous account ftp

so uid of f731 is 1731 and gid is 501 and i'm trying to connect to celera with this user

that is the result of the fs_mount | grep fs_userdir

fs_userdir on /fs_userdir uxfs,perm,rw

under fs_userdir i have a directory f731

Must i restart the ftp service ? how to do this ?

if it were a permission or path issue you would get the other error messageI would try resetting the password using server_user

Hi,no need to create accounts on a standby data mover - it doesnt have a config and will use the password file of the primary one after a failover.no need to restart ftp either - it should just workwhat exactly does ftp say - something like that ?550 Can't change to home directory.Login failed.that most likely means that either the homedir path is incorrect or the permission on that path dont allow the user to enter itRainer
