I just tried that and it still did not copy anything. Do I need to add any kind of directory options? Thanks for the help so far.

Ok, now I feel a bit stupid. The name of the share on the data-mover is FS_community, but it is just Community on the file share side. Taking all that into consideration, I still did not get the data to copy:

D:\CifsTools\emcopy\nt>emcopy \\rshbgfs2\FS_community_replica1 \\rshbgfs2\Community

try playing with trailing "\" in the name of directories.

I played with the trailing "\" and also added the "/s" flag and it is copying some of the data. I am trying to copy archived data with this program so I need to preserve stub files and not recall them from my centera. It appears to be recalling them though. I am also getting a security descriptor error for a large number of files and directories.

Security Descriptor error: Unable to open directory for setting SD
Error 1314: A required privilege is not held by the client.

Any ideas and thanks for everything so far.

David,

search this forum, there were a couple of threads where people were migrating archived data, i think it's a emcopy flag that you need to add but i can't remember it off the top of my head.

Thats a sign that the account running emcopy doesnt have the necessary user rights like backup/restore privilege

see the manual
Using EMC Utilities for the CIFS Environment
on page 45

Dynamox and Rainer,
Thanks for all the help. I have emcopy working and will start migrating my file shares with it.
