how to create volume inside a volume

Hi,

I am new to Celerra storage. i have created a 1TB volume on a datamover and exported as NFS mount point. i want to create another volume inside the 1TB vol similar to qtree on netapp volume.

how to create volume inside a volume and NFS export it to all hosts?

thanks in advance,

Triveni

Re: how to create volume inside a volume

the Celerra equivalent to "qtree" is called tree quota.

Just create one and export it as NFS mount point.

But be careful, if you create a NFS export on the parent directory, the tree quota underneath is already exported too

Re: how to create volume inside a volume

its called a treequota on Celerra and you can create it either via GUI or nas_quotas CLI command.

It's similar to the NetApp qtree - the only difference is that it doesnt have a security style for multi-protocol - on Celerra that is set per file system using the access policy mount options.

If you also want to see just the free space in the treequota vs. free on the whole fs you also need to set a param - the default for NFS is to show the whole fs.
