Centra 32Nodes Order
Hello
Assuming a Centra Configuration in which it should contain 32Nodes, I'm wondering in what quantity should we place order for this part number? Is this part number contains 4 nodes, which mean we should place order for 8 number of this part#? or we are wrong?
CNR4N7MBAG4LP 4NODE 750GB MANF BASE LOW POWER G4 -
Also in case we want to place order with its new replacement?
CNR4N1FBAG4LP UNBUNDLED 4 NODE GEN4LP WITH 1TB DRIVES WITH 2 SWI
Moreover, I'm wondering if the Harddisks are included or should be ordered seperatedly?
Thanks
Best Regards

Hi,
If you already have the rack and the switches installed, you may be required to order the nodes individually. The details are in the following:
2.0 TB COMPUTE STORAGE ENGINE, SW LOADED
Please note: You may refer to the latest Hardware notes also verify the part numbers with your local vendor or the EMC sales team.
Good Luck.

Oh, and yes, these kits would include the hard-drives already installed in the nodes and properly imaged with Centrastar code.

Hello,
You would need to order the following:
CNR4N1FBAG4LP - Centera 4 node (1TB HDD) field base Gen4 Low Power
which is a base-cube with 4-nodes. It will have two cube switches and 4 4-TB nodes.
Then you would need 6 of the following:
CNR2N1FUPG4LP - Centera 2 node (1TB HDD) field installed upgrade unit Gen4 Low Power
each of which are a 2-node upgrade unit and does NOT contain cube switches.
This combination would give you ONE full Gen4 cube containing 16 nodes. If you want 32 nodes, you would ned to double everything.
If you just order the nodes by their individual part numbers, you would not have rail-kits, power cords, switches, ethernet cables and the various other pieces of hardware needed to rack-mount the cluster.
I suggest you contact your local EMC sales rep. so that your exact needs can be evaluated and they will be able it insure that all necessary parts and services are ordered to make sure you have a smooth and successful installation. The services sold will also make sure the Centera is implemented correctly with your application.
