Hi Michael,

As of June 30, 2009:

  • For customers that have an EMC Maintenance Contract, CentraStar 3.1.x will no longer be covered thereunder. The EMC Maintenance Contract will remain in effect and for use in connection with those release designations that remain eligible for support under the EMC Maintenance Contract.

  • The “no charge” upgrade to EMC CentraStar software version 4.0.x remains available for all prior release designations of CentraStar that are covered by an EMC Warranty or a current EMC Maintenance Contract.

  • Note! Customers with Centera Generation 1 hardware are revision locked on CentraStar 2.4.x.

Please follow primus emc214143 for more details,

If still unable to upgrade the Cstar software, Try reinstalling it and see if it works.

Regards,

Phukon

Hello Michael,

The Cstar 3.1 is no longer supported and see if you can upgrade it to the latest version 4.1.

If you're unable to view the primus emc214143

you may manually connect to http://powerlink.emc.com/ and insert the primus id in the Search the KnowledgeBase area.

The access node may be locked. Try connecting with Centera Viewer using the admin profile. Then open CLI and type

show security all

You can unlock a node with

set security unlock c00xnxx

If this is not the problem, is the cluster in CE+ mode? If so you cannot manage though an access node.

Upgrade to 4.1 and assign the managment role to 2 nodes.

You can also check connectivity to an access node with

centeraping -address

Centeraping is installed along with CLI with customer service tools.
