Your best reference would be a book on fibre channel. I'd recommend "Fibre Channel Consultant: A Comprehensive Introduction" by Robert Kembel. Its the best reference that I know of for a detailed understanding of fibre channel. You need to know the protocol before you'll understand a trace.

If you already know FC pretty well, you should be able to follow the trace fairly well in TraceView. The best way to learn is just to look at traces of normal behavior.
