Remove and ISL from 2 switches

Hello, We have 2 switches that have an ISL between them. We no longer need the ISL. To remove - can we simply disable the ISL ports and unplug the cables that connect the 2 switches? Are there other steps required to remove all traces of this old ISL?

Remove portchannel config as well and put the former ISL ports in auto mode instead of E mode.

Breaking the ISLs should be as easy as you are describing but you need to review why the ISLs were created in the first place and see if anything you used need to be also removed. A typical example could be if you you ISL'ed so you you could zone one hba connected to one switch to storage on the other switch. In this case assuming you no longer needed the connection, you'd have to also edit the zone set. If you aren't 100% sure, please check with your local EMC support team.

Thank you.
