Dell Advantage Rewards (the anti-loyalty program)
I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase a nearly $6,000 precision work station 3 months ago. It took weeks for the points to process and when I finally got around to checking if the points had posted (for reasons i'll dig into), I discovered they expired a little over a week ago. Upon calling customer service to see if they could be reinstated (common practice with American Express/Southwest Airlines or any other fortune 500 company that prides itself on customer service) I was met with sarcasm and the customer service employee actually asked me what I was doing for 90 days that I didn't have time to check?
I don't know- trying to keep my business a float during one of the most economic instable times in the world, homeschooling two kids because we're in the middle of a Pandemic, dealing with parents who have Covid- you know- LIFE!
The real cherry on top was that I was going to use the points to purchase a replacement WD Red Plus drive that flamed out after only 14 months, which was purchased from DELL and has been a nightmare to get anyone to help with the warranty work! So I ended up doling out more money- this time not to Dell to replace the drive.
It's clear customer service and customer loyalty are things that are merely words and used when convenient- they don't actually mean them.

Dell customer service is amazing- NOT! You post to the customer care forum, you then get contacted by DELL, after shooting several emails back and forth-
"I'm sorry- you need to go to customer service, we can't help you."
Yeah... didn't you read my post? Customer service can't help either.

I received a private message from Dell Care- as an exception, this will be taken care of please call customer service:
Dell Customer Service- "ne exceptions are ever taken, I see the note, I see the case number, we cannot help you."
Me-"I have a Dell harddrive that died and is under warranty, can you forward me to make a claim?"
DCS- "Sure..."
Dial tone.....
