How can I get compensated for shipment delay

Hi,

About 2 weeks back, I had to return a Vostro Laptop due to manufacturing issue and I placed an order for Dell XPS 13. I was told that the shipment will be delivered from USA warehouse and I requested for a expedited shipping.

I saw today that my shipment is getting shipped from China and it is stuck in customs. By any chance they wont deliver it by 19th June as promised. I have my travel on 20th and If they don't deliver on time, I will loose my money for travel.

Would Dell compensate for this loss? 

Also at what sense UPS sure post comes under expedite shipping, As far I know that UPS sure post deliver parcel through USPS to the receiver. I did not get how can dell treat it as an expedite shipping?

I am having tough time dealing with Dell folks and will think 100 times before doing any purchase with them in future.

No, they will not compensate for shipping delays (or losses due to those).  And while Sure Post is an inexpensive shipping option, it can actually be faster (particularly now with all the upheavals in logistics) than standard UPS or FedEx shipping - it all depends on the delivery location relative to the logistics site from which it ships.
