Ownership transfer and complaint

Today I felt very much frustrated after speaking with so called Dell customer care team on my warranty upgrade or ownership transfer. It started with my warranty upgrade of my dell laptop(Service Tag:<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>) and then to ownership transfer. A week back I have submitted the ownership transfer request online but I haven't received any acknowledgement nor status on the request. As my warranty is ending soon I have called warranty extend support team 1-800-348-6147. The first guy picked the call and just transferred the call with out addressing my concerns. And also he didn't informed me that he is transferring call to another customer care.

After speaking with second person, he said he is not able to find my ownership transfer request that I placed on 9-May. Then I have asked him, how can I track the request of ownership transfer online similar to order tracking/service request. He said he will take the suggestion/complaint to the manager or upper management. Then I clearly said this issue is happening again....which I faced earlier, hence I have asked him is there any way I can track this complaint/suggestion of "acknowledgement / status of ownership transfer" that you put to your superior management. He said he will check with his supervisor and come back. After minute or two he said he said he is transferring the call to his manager/supervisor.

And the manager which he connected is so arrogant. He is not listening nor co-operative to resolve my issue. He simply says talking to customer care of your previous location. A Big head weight guy. By speaking with him I decided to trash all my 6 dell products which I am using.

I already frustrated speaking with dell customer service from last one week wasting my time and now by speaking with this manager, I lost faith on dell.

Warm Regards

Hi mpk123,

Thanks for posting.

I apologize for your frustration over the warranty transfer of your Dell product.

Your post doesn't state if you are transferring ownership from a person to another person or from a retail outlet.

The Warranty Transfer information can be found here

If you purchased at a store, here's the info:

Retail Registration

If you purchased your Dell product at a retail store (not directly from Dell), you don’t need to transfer the product; you need to  register your product.

What you’ll need to transfer your warranty

  1. Service Tag of the Dell product
  2. Previous owner’s name
  3. New owner’s name and address
Note: If you bought a Dell product on eBay or Amazon, additional details may be requested to complete the transfer.
If you would like to contact me privately and give me the names of the agents involved, I'll see that additional training is offered to them so we can improve the experience for the next customer.  Thanks.
Regards,
Robert

Register it in your name first - then transfer.  The transfer, however, requires:

1.  More than the standard warranty-- you cannot transfer a system with the basic 12-month depot warranty.  You must purchase an upgrade to onsite service in order to transfer a warranty.

2.  That the system you are transferring is sold in the market you're transferring to -- if it's not, the transfer won't go through.

i have a similar problem, I purchased my laptop from a reclaimed computer company and need to transfer ownership but cant as the stupid form asks for previous owners information. I don't know it and neither does where I got it from.   And all I need is the bios password unlocked...
