DDBEA and Oracle RMAN integrated backups

I have a client running DDBEA with Oracle RMAN backups.

During the configuration, we configure 2 x Data Domains within the lockbox configuration.

Thoughts raised from this are:

1. How do we define retention as we have 3 policies of 28 days, 90 days and 90 days with replication. Does RMAN provide this??

2. How does RMAN choose the primary or secondary Data Domain. The primary DD supports 28 and 90 days. The secondary DD supports 90 days with replication

thanks!

RMAN has a ability to tag retention on a backup with the :keep until" function, and during that same backup you can define a secondary copy. To do three retention policies on a single DB would require three scripts, or calling the script with parameters.
