Data Domain FC Boost and Netbackup OST

Question

Hello!

We would like to implement Data Domain FC Boost with Netbackup.

We want to separate the different traffic to different mtree to check

the dedup ratio. (Exchange mtree, DB mtree, etc)

OST and DD Boost/FC is working fine, however the following errors occured during the implementation:

- the data domain allows only one DFC name

- Netbackup allow only one storage server to add

So theoratically it is allowd to create different mtree-s with DD Boost/FC but technically we cannot implement it.

Questions:

- Is anybody implemented multiple Mtree-s with DDBoost/FC ?

- How is the NBU limitations resolved?

You can create multiple ddboost storage units and add them as separate pools in NBU. DFC server will always remain Unique.

Thanks a lot!

We tried it but we cannot do because when we start to create ddboost storage unit wizard in NBU

we got always that this unit is already exist, so we cannot do it.

- Did you configured it in production system?

- How to make it?

You will have to create multiple Storage Units in DD and then use them as your storage Unit in NBU.
