Data Domain - Network Configuration for Gateway
Community,
I am having a hard time configuring network configuration for both Management network and the data network. If I configure the gateway for the management network I cant get to my data network and vise versa. So is there a way to configure both gateways on a single data domain controller? Let me know.
Thank you,

Default gateway can be only one. Rest is taken care by network routing where you can specify additional routes.

Yea what DDOS are you running. depending on what ddos version you are running you may need some static routes. DDOS 6.0 has some new functionality that will simplify this process.

Right that is why the DDOS version is important here.

I was thinking about the strict reverse path forwarding that appeared momentarily in early DDOS 5.7 and was fixed in 5.7.2.0 and onwards.

With that version of DDOS you are most likely experiencing revers path filtering. If you update to ddos 5.7.4.0 it will disable reverse path filtering. In the version you are on it is on and it will require that you have static routes on each network.

Guys,
this is what I get when I try and create a static route.. so what your saying is that this will no longer happen if I upgrade to 5.7.4?

Is that the recommended code level for 5.7.x?

Maybe you can give us an idea of network you are trying to configure and we can tell you wish CLI to use (sorry, I'm not GUI person). Based on that screenshot it seems like some value was used where it was not expected.

What we are saying is that if you didn't have a need for static routes before you upgraded to DDOS 5.7.0.10 by upgrading to DDOS 5.7.4.0 your dd will work as it did before the upgrade to 5.7.0.10. I would comment more if I could see more on what you were doing for the route. it is real easy to make a simple mistake.

Folks,
I am trying to setup a a management network and a data network. But as it is today I cant communicate with both networks at the same time because I can set only one default gateway. Setting a static route doesn't seem to be working from the WebUI.

If there is a reason you can't upgrade the DDOS, then I think you need to raise an SR and have support assist you with disabling the strict reverse path forwarding, though I have to advise you that the upgrade is infinitely better.
A lot has been improved since the code you're currently running.
Static routes aren't that bad but you could still make a mistake and cause odd problems.
IMHO, Jonathan
