Good day, I have come across your post (mentioned above) and was wondering if you could shed some light on the subject, if you don't mind. We are to install an instance of IBM SP 8.1.9 at a customer who has an EMC Data Domain that would act as there "Tape/Migration storage" now I have not come across this before so could you maybe assist in a few queries from my side? I have the IBM SP knowledge, just the config to the EMC is a bit vague, for two reasons. 1. there is talk of it acting as a VTL? and two it could also act as a disk storage pool. So what is best? The project is a POC install to see if customer would want to upgrade from 7.1 but their audit requires it to be done, so it has Thank you in advance. Rayn
Could you send your TSM/DD/Linux/VTL whitepaper to me too ?
We are looking at moving away from physical LTO tape libraries and management has just announced they are getting DD boxes - so I gotta look into it... My pools are directory containers... Looking at either retention classes (nfs file semantics) or copy container pools (with vtl/ip or nfs file semantics)...
