ESRS steps for pre and post DDOS 6 - they aren't the same.

DDOS6 - it supports only ESRS VE V3 and REST transport.

Before DDOS6 (from 5.3 technically), it was ESRS V2 or V3 via transport HTTPS, SMTP or... FTP... (which I don't advise).

^^^Edit/clarification based on some feedback of how this may be interpreted;

I don't advise "FTP" as the transport from DD to the customer ESRS gateway, since often FTP is blocked in the customer firewall.

HTTPS is my personal preference, followed by SMTP in the transport choice for this ESRS configuration method.

From the web interface of DD. Go to Maintenance > Support > AutoSupport > Look for Channel > Click Configure > From the Channel Drop down list > Select EMC Secure Remote SErvices > Give your ESRS VE Gateway Hostname > Give your DD System Local IP > CLick "OK".

At this point, is where I am STUCK, it prompts for Service Link Username: & Password.... What is this info that is needed?

Is this my login for the support.emc.com site? if so I get an error...

SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK.

Ensure exact gateway hostname used during gateway deployment is used in this command.

If I change it to the FQDN of the ESRS server I get

Couldn't resolve host name

You can find the documentation under support.emc.com > Product Data Domain > Documentation > Initial Configuration Guide.

Doing so you can find the how to for 5.x and 6.x DDOS.
