If you have CIFS connection on some machine from DD, just run Get-SmbConnection and see what does it use.  This is uneducated guess so I could be 100% wrong.

I have verified Data Domain OS 5.4.1.1-411752 and it  smbd version is 3.0.35

How can you verify yourself?

You can mount a CIFS share ddvar

Once mounted there is a log file log.smbd under:

/ddr/var/log/debug/cifs/log.smbd

On a CLI, issue the command

#cifs disable
#cifs enable

Those commands will ensure that  SAMBA is restarted and that you will have an entry in the log file

Hope it helps

Gonzalo

Hey Gonzalo, good find - I couldn't find anything on this.

I took a look at this and the logs seem to provide a decent steer to the version running, even without disabling/enabling cifs.

Also, without mounting ddvar, I ran the following commands straight from sysadmin on an SSH session;

log view debug/cifs/log.smbd

or

log watch debug/cifs/log.smbd

These show entries, like you say, for "smbd version 3.0.35 started".

Cheers,

Jonathan
