How to replace a failed disk drive in Data Domain(steps and precautions)??!
I am currently facing a disk failure on one of our Data Domain systems at work, we happen to have a new one for replacement.
- I would like to know the steps and precautions to be taken to replace the disk successfully.
- Whether I'll need to do any configurations after replacement and how to go about it.
I would really appreciate to get feedback as soon as possible as the issue is service impacting. Thanks

From support request disk replacement... depending on you service agreement you will get a disk shipped (and replaced). If you just receive disk, go to DD. When logged on DD you can see broken disk via disk show state which will give you coordinates. To be sure, run beacon which will activate visual so you can't go wrong there. Then just eject disk out physically and insert new one. After 5 minutes check if state has changed. If not, you can do unfail action with disk command for coordinates gives by disk show state command.
