Is this really 11.00? If so, check NFS filesystem limits. Dave Olker from HP gave the overview there and since limit comes from OS/protocol implementation itself, you can only limit the size of export (or break them) or update OS.

Yes, it is HP-UX 11. I read the HP forum you sent, and couldn't find the answer to my original question, which is:
How to limit filesystem to let's say 1TB coming off the DataDomain and the export it via NFS to HP-UX system?

Only by creating export which is 1TB in size.

Maybe I'm missing something - but how do you do that on DataDomain 5.4.1.1? I don't see place you could specify the size of your export.

You are right.. I thought you could mask it via mtree, but this is not possible.
