Using Data Domain as Syncplicity backend
Hi all, I have a situation where we are considering using Data Domain NFS shares as the backend for our Syncplicity solution. Just curious to get some opinions on the downsides or caveats of this.
I can imagine that performance will not be optimal due to the nature of Data Domain disks/RAID and that we will be inline de-duping all data from Syncplicity constantly which will tax cpu/ram in addition to our backup workload.
However, any reason why this would not work?

Theoretically yes it should work. But keep in mind the DD was not designed to be a nearline storage device and is not supported as such. So yes you would most likely have performance issues.
