Reporting on multiple backup software - Networker vs Commvault, consistency of reporting

I'm not too sure how many others are in a situation where multiple backup solutions are being reported on.  We have both Networker (legacy software that has been on its way out for several years) and CommVault (newer software that is a long term standard).  Until one solution remains both parts need to be reported on by EBA, ideally simultaneously.

Part of working with two packages means that data gets reported back in a different format, for example:

Cartridge type is Ultrium 2 with Networker and ULTRIUM V2 with Commvault.

Media State is full/partial/etc in Networker and 0 with Commvault

Expiry flag is populated with Networker and empty with Commvault

Media Usage field is a data source that is populated for Networker but is empty for Commvault.

The media state field only allows you to query on valid Networker states.

It seems to me that it woud be beneficial if the data was normalized across all applications to allow consistent reporting.  Another thing that would be useful is that rather than having a guide to what data is collected that there were tables indicating what fields should be populated for various data sources.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
