Unable to create snaphot while backing up a VM using EBRA

ESXi 5.5.0 1331820

vCenter 5.5.0     (Windows 2008 R2 64 bits)

Hi,

While backing up the VMs from a backup group using EBRA, the backup encountered the following event and the backup failed:

It seems that setting the disk.EnableUUID (KB 2079220/ https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2079220 )to false and reboot the VM fixed the problem.  But later on, we found that without the change, rebooting the VM also fixed the above problem.

What could be the correct solution and is there a solution avoiding rebooting the VM?
