Works for me. I can log on to DPC using this format: \
DPC ver 18.1 (looking to upgrade to newer version soon)
I actually came here looking for other users' experiences with another DPC issue and saw your post. I'm no expert, but would be glad to try and help if you still have not resolved this.
If everything else is configured correctly, then I think you only need to deal with the following file to make AD authentication work:
