Configuration Compliance Baseline question

I've created a Configuration Compliance Template to deploy AD Authentication settings to all of the iDRACs in my environment.  When I go to create the baseline using that template though, only 5 of my 27 managed servers are listed to apply the baseline to.  I've tried recreating the template using servers of different generations (R720, R730xd, R740) and it's always the same 5 iDRACs listed to apply the baseline to.  The interesting part is that the 5 iDRACs are all R740/R740xd....but not all of R740/R740xd servers in the environment are listed. Anyone have any thoughts why I'm only able to apply a baseline to these 5 specific iDRACs?

Hello

That type of template deployment may be license restricted. There is an advanced license that can be applied to an iDRAC to grant additional features. The five that are showing up probably have that iDRAC license installed. I suggest reviewing the documentation to see if what you are doing is locked behind license requirements.

So I dug around in the manual some more and referenced some other documents and found that you are correct - it's a license issue.  One part of the manual says that the only requirement for Device Configuration Compliance is that "you must have the Enterprise level license of OpenManage Enterprise and iDRAC for servers" (pg 75).  Other parts of the manual say that an "OpenManage Enterprise Advanced License" is required and ultimately makes it clear that that license is applied to each server (pg 11-12).  The OpenManage Enterprise License Guide however makes it sound like the Advanced License is applied to the OME console similar to the Client Access License (CAL) model other software uses.  If parts of OME are going to be locked down by license requirements, some time should be taken by the Dell-EMC documentation team to make sure all of the documentation is clear and in agreement with each other.

In my environment, all of my iDRACs have an Enterprise License but it turns out only five of them have an "OME Server Configuration Management" license which is a predecessor to the OME Advanced License.  I'm still not entirely sure what the "Enterprise level license of OpenManage Enterprise" is but I'm assuming it's another (older?) name for the Advanced License.

Thanks for pointing be towards it being a license issue!
