Feature Request: Firmware updates via http push instead of cifs
Hey all,
would it be possible to change the behavior of the OME to send the firmware updates via http post or similar instead of relying on cifs?
Bidirectional traffic - especially cifs - for such a central system as OMEis, is often criticized during security audits. Also most of the iDRAC versions already offer the possibility to upload the firmware updates directly via browser interface.
If that is already supported and I missed the specific setting, please let me know.

Upon researching the issue I was advised that you should look at calling in and requesting the OpenManage group regarding the request.

I couldn't agree more with this. In addition to the points already raised, having to open up firewalls ports to achieve CIFS updates it no ideal.
