Field Service Debug Mode -- where to send dat.ini file
So I finally managed to get the DAT.INI file from my OopenManage Enterprise VM. Who do I send it to? The documentation just says "Send the DAT.ini file to a Dell EMC contact for signing if you are an external user. " How do I find the appropriate contact?

| So, how am I supposed to SSH into the machine to configure and manage it?
You don't. Essentially the only thing you should need to do at the console is change the network settings through the text GUI, and then configure the rest through the Web UI.
I have had an FSD key signed in the past, but it is time bombed, and Dell Enterprise Support usually expect a good reason to need access (or in some cases have no idea how to sign it or what FSD mode is). Any logs can be exported out of the Audit Log Section of the UI.
This has caused me clashes with my security team in the past, who believe that we should have root access to any linux device on our network for "vulnerability mitigation" irrespective of it being a vendor appliance or not. I tend to agree with them - It's one thing to have an appliance box that is actively managed by the vendor, but another where the appliance is supplied un-managed with the expectation you will support it in house, and raise calls as required.

You can find more information about what SSH features are supported in the manual on the OMEnt support page.

Hello
That feature is used for advanced troubleshooting. If you are directed to use that feature during a support session then the support agent will assist with enabling the feature. I'm not familiar with the exact process, if it is needed it will be enabled while needed and then disabled again.
Thanks

Thanks for the info, bcshort.
I guess I'm done here. OpenManage Enterprise is not going to serve my needs.
