Firmware Update Logs Verbosity
Where can I find better logging of the firmware update process. I have a mixture of R430 and R230. I put in a custom http based repo using the repo manager and updates to the R430 work great but updates to the R230s fail very frequently on mounting the remote share. It would be great to know things like, what failed to mount the remote share, OME or the iDrac? Why is there a remote share involved when it's an http repo? Why doesn't the logging tell me what the remote share is?

Hi,
The appliance needs to copy the update packages from the repo you have provided to the share it carries so that iDRAC can read it. We are working towards making the logging better with each release. Could you please confirm which version of OpenManage Enterprise are you using?
Also, if you see that the error is mount failed, then please check the necessary ports between iDRAC and appliance are open. You can find the port details at https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/04/dell-openmanage-enterprise-tech-release/ome_techrelease_ug/supported-protocols-and-ports-on-management-stations?guid=guid-3226ec7a-8854-4f3d-be3a-3f3b6fcdbb08&lang=en-us

After doing a packet capture on the firewall. I solved this by turning on SMBv1 on in the OME Appliance. The iDracs are stuck in 2005 and were performing an SMB negotiation for SMBv1 (Dialect: NT LM 0.12). This is clearly a security issue, when will the iDracs be getting a firmware update?
