Handling alerts when a device needs maintenance in OMEnt

When we need to take down systems for scheduled maintenance where do I go to select the option to "ignore alerts" to temporarily suspend sending alerts for a single or subset of devices?  Or how do I configure OMEnt to do this?

I've been reviewing the User's Guide and I see references to ignore alerts but it appears to be for "all" devices. I need an option to temporary ignore the alert for a single or subset of devices.

Thank you.

Hello,

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't an option in OMEnt to ignore alerts for an individual device. The only option that I'm aware is, as you mentioned, to ignore alerts from all devices. Now, you could go into the specific device and set it up so that those alerts are never sent, but that would probably be more work than you'd want to do, especially if you need to adjust multiple devices.

The feature for Ignore Alerts for a specific device was present in OpenManage Essentials, and I find it very surprising they did not choose to bring this into OpenManage Enterprise.

However, there is a way as suggested by @TXBruce in https://www.dell.com/community/Dell-OpenManage-Enterprise/Ignore-alerts/m-p/7370659#M2051

-Create a Static Group and name it: Ignore Alerts
-Create a Alert Policy on this group, and choose the Ignore action. This ignore policy will override any other policies for devices targeted.
-Whenever you are going to do maintenance on a device, select it in your inventory, and click the Add to Group button. Add it to the existing Ignore Alerts group
-When maintenance is complete, you need to edit the Ignore Alerts group, and remove your device from this group.

It's a bit cumbersome, but it works.

Thanks for the workaround on this issue. I appreciate it.
