Update BIOS only via OME
Is there a way to create a catalog that only contains a BIOS update? I have some servers with a very old BIOS version & Dell is recommending that we upgrade to an intermediate version before going to the latest version we are installing. I download the BIOS version & extracted the contents but I don't see a catalog.xml file.

Hello
Yes, I typically do single update repositories when I'm testing. It doesn't sound like you are using Dell EMC Repository Manager. You should be using DRM to create your repositories.
If it is only a couple of servers then there are probably easier methods than creating a new repository. 12th generation, iDRAC7, and later can perform BIOS updates through the iDRAC. You could open up the iDRAC web server and use a Windows 32-bit Dell Update Package in the Update and Rollback section. It will upload the file from your computer through the browser and perform the update. 64-bit DUPs are supported on some iDRACs, and support may require that the iDRAC be past a certain firmware revision.
You can also push single package updates through OpenManage Enterprise. If you go to the Devices tab at the top you can select systems on that page with a check mark. In the More Options drop-down there are a few options that you can use to perform a single package update. One of them is Update Firmware, when you are going through that menu it will provide an option to update a single package.
Thanks
