I'll paste some common items for you to review at the end of this post.
Also, when you run the TS tool on the OME server and target the SNMP test at your target server, what version of "Server Administrator" is displayed in your result set?
Thanks,
Rob

OME Discovery
Here are the important items to check when you are chasing down OME Discovery and Inventory issues.
1. Check FAQ 3.6 if inventory is not showing up.
2. Be sure OMSA is on the managed node (target) if you are using SNMP/WMI (#3.3)
3. Be sure you have “accept packets” checked on your managed node (#3.4)
4. If discovering a 2008 server, see item #3.5
5. Be sure you check the community string, remember they are *case sensitive* (#3.4). Did you type it in correctly in the discovery wizard? Did you type it in correctly in the managed node SNMP properties? Did you type it in correctly in the TS test screen?
6. Run the SNMP troubleshooting test for SNMP or WMI. For SNMP the results *must* include the version of OMSA in the table. For WMI the results *must* contain the words “Dell Server Agent” for the namespace returned.
Ok, and, just to belabor the point (since you answered me in the first line of your reply :-)
When you say v7.2.0, that means the result table from the TS tool is showing this version in the results right?
Just want to make sure you are not just saying "OMSA 7.2 is installed".
Cause if the TS tool shows 7.2, then discovery should work.
And you checked that the SNMP read string is case sensitive correct?
How many devices do you have in your discovery range? Sometimes for troubleshooting, we will delete the range and create one with a single IP just to narrow it down.
Assuming you don't have any other protocols other than SNMP checked in the disc range.
Yep the SNMP string is the same as one that is checking in.
I setup a discovery just for this server and when I run that task it will not add to the console. Currently seeing 16 servers and 24 Unknown devices which is ok. It is strange this is the only server that will not show up.
Looked in the Unknown node's and don't see it in that collection either.
I have a change to reboot the server on Friday maybe that will do it? :)
This is really rare. I'd hate to tell you to reboot the target. But I'd like to see if that helps. Give it a try when you get to a maint window on that box and let me know.
Bah....that's a bummer. Kyle, generally, when this happens is almost always because OMSA is not installed or is having some trouble with the SNMP service. But it looks like you've checked all that out. I think I have to punt you to the support queue and see if we can collect more logs and see what is up (phone 800-945-3355 ).
But I'm very interested in seeing what the resolution is on this.
I uninstalled Dell OpenManage Systems Management Software on the server I'm having issues with this morning. I found the uninstall had issues stopping service DSM SA Data Manager. I had to run a DOS command to kill the process so the uninstall could complete. Not sure if that information is useful or not, but thought I would pass this along to you.

Thanks for the quick reply Rob.
Server Administrator version is 7.2.0
1. 3.6 in the FAQ - Network Discovery is turned on
2. OMSA is on the managed Node and is using SNMP. I have also verified the SNMP setting with a server that is working they are the same.
3. Accept Packets - I am guessing that is on the SNMP Service under the security tab? Right now I have Accept SNMP packets from any host
4. We have this setup to Accept SNMP packets from any host
5. community string is the same as another computer that is working. Rights are set to READ ONLY
6. Server Administrator 7.2.0, Storage Management 4.20, Inventory Collector 7.2.0
Any other tips as it is still not coming up in the management console?

Does it show up under Unknown node?

Hey Rob,
This is what I see in the results table:
Server Administrator (Version) 7.2.0
Storage Management (Agent Version) 4.2.0
Inventory Collector (Agent Version) 7.2.0
Yep the SNMP string is the same as one that is checking in.

Rob,
I have a change setup for Friday at 7:00 pm CST. I should be able to let you know after that if the server is reporting in after the reboot.
